21 Jan 2020 The XVII Convention of the Society was held as International Conference on New Horizons in Biotechnology organized by the CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, Trivandrum during November 20-24, 2019. Drs K Madhavan Nampoothiri, Rajeev K Sukumaran and P Binod were its main organizers. NHBT-2019, the international conference on New Horizons in Biotechnology was jointly organized by the Biotech Research Society, India (BRSI) and CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, Trivandrum during November 20-24, 2019. To supplement the current and future demand of biotherapeutics in dealing with snakebites, the Sehrawat lab at IISER Mohali has generated and selected a less immunogenic but potent anti-Russell Viper Venom single domain antibody from an in-house constructed phage display library of unique antibody derivative also known as Variable region of Heavy chain of Heavy chain antibody (VHH). The biological approach must be used for the plant growth promotion. The actinomycetes were isolated from the rhizosphere soil samples of maize from Dhule district and College of Agriculture, Pune, India.
